How many HVX users in SF?

BAVC Meeting

BAVC Meeting

yo,

I could do thursday, what time?

Is there parking @ BAVC?

Re: a long term meeting place, I think something within easy walking distance to BART with parking would be ideal, (oh HAHA that's right, this is San Francisco, who am I ffing kidding)

Anyway - I think a card pool would be a VERY good idea, and it would be good to know who is around.

oh yeah, somewhere we could hook up drives to a workstation + view stuff would be good... so perhaps a Café, even though nice, isn't ideal.

Turing, you can't get to the end of the first mile ;-)

Maybe you can shoot some funny and naked runers with your HVX.

A.

HAHA. Most people that run naked should be clothed, some people that run clothed should be naked :)

(I shot part of Runners High with Alex, including the LA Marathon, it just premiered @ HotDocs and SFIFF to standing ovations... GO ALEX!)

I got an HVX and a magiqcam I got the HVX running on. I'm in class at BAVC till 5:00pm. What time were you guys meeting?

Sorry to come late to the thread, but an SF HVX group sounds great. Add us on as another HVX owner/operator/rental house in SF. I'm currently posting two shorts we shot on the HVX and getting ready to send them out to the festivals. Plus I've just received an M2 35mm adapter with PL and Nikon mounts. I'd love to sit around a geek out with everyone and really get to know this tool.

I haven't posted any clips from our shorts yet, but you can see a couple of stills on our website. http://www.purebredproductions.com

I'd love to do Thursday after 5pm anywhere in "The City" as I'm on two-wheels so parking is a snap.

I have an HVX and a portable new Dual Core PC with AVID express PRO loaded on it for demonstration and testing. Count me in!

I live in San Mateo but work throughout the entire Northern CA.

I think the Presidio would be cool if we had a few other members with powerful laptops, perhaps a few MACs and another PC person.

Later Brothers...

Looks VERY promissing!

Lenny Levy - way up here in San Rafael - have at least 4-5 friends with HVX in Marin and Magnetic Image has a bunch w/ firestores for rent.

BTW - Finally did my first P2 HD ( 720-24PN) shoot today. Everything prior was on DV tape. A political spot which was ideal for P2 (Eric Safire for judge - keep your TV eyes on the lookout for the HVX look.
Got a long day on 1 8Gig & 1 4 Gig without ever even downloading. . The camera was stunning everyone, really looked great. I was very happy.

Hey here's an idea.... why don't you guys post your real names. i mean we're supposed to be introducing ourselves... hell we might be working on a job together & not know it because of these "cool" web handles.

Oh yeah:

Looks like Dillon is MIA. Shall we try for the Presidio?

Nice to meet you Lenny. I'm in Greenbrae. I know, I know. My location states SF. I recently moved to Marin.

Yo, Inner Sunset representin' here... LOL!

Don't own a DVX or HVX, but am about to pull the trigger on a 100B before the rebate expires. I've been getting a little more hardcore about my 'recording hobby,' as of late, and I've been thinking it's time to move up from my GS400 to a DVX (not ready nor do I really require HD considering this is a hobby for me really). I've been an amateur audience audio/music recordist for a while, and have just been adding some video into the mix as of late. I would love to meet up with folks in the Bay Area cause I have a lot to learn for sure.

You can check out some of my audience recordings on my website here:
