How many HVX users in SF?

That's hilarious, I used to work at BAVC, I hope it's changed dramatically since then. Who did you convince to get the HVX?

This is getting fun.

Dillon-
I'm down for a users group. What's entailed?

MCSHYD-
Would you want to open a SF HVX topic on your forum?

I use to live in North Beach and now I'm in Oakland. I don't own an HVX yet, though planning to rent one for a summer project. I've taken classes at BAVC and done a few Bay to Breakers, though fully clothed. Does that sorta kinda count?

Anybody want to have coffee at Perk Presidio? I work at ILM and Scott Smith has a HVX and would probably join us. We share P2 cards.
cheers,
Sam

What's up Sam!

I'm game.

I have an office and a home here on the Presidio.

Let me know and we can meet up.

I am pretty free this week except Tuesday.

Best Regards

I own an HVX and complete package. 4x 8Gb P2 cards. I live in downtown right by Union Square and am looking for stuff to shoot. Feel free to contact me if you need help, I am definately interested. I've already logged a couple hundred hours using the camera. I also have a quad processor FCP5 setup for editing the hi-def footage. I will have a wedsite, a demo reel and a trailer for a feature length documentary I'm producing up in a week or two.

Alright,

What day is the best day to have the meeting for y'all? Best times would be a weeknight evening (after 5pm). Most rooms are available. While BAVC is open on the weekends, its open for its weekend workshops and there are no rooms during the day, and BAVC closes at 6pm on the weekends.

How does a tuesday or thursday sound?

We could also all meet at a nice Cafe.

There are tons in the Marina and we could do Borders or another place by SBC Ballpark.

We should see who all wants to hook up and find a spot that is the most convenient and comfortable for all.

If it's BAVC cooool!

We should do what we can to put a little effort into it and that way we are on auto pilot and get down to brass tacks.

Depending on how many folks will be coming I have a conference room and an office here on The Presidio and we can use it for a regular spot if everyone's amenable.

It's right by the Old Public Health Hospital just a bit off 19th Ave and California.

Safe, Secure, Comfortable.....

Oddly enough, they use our offices for a ridiculous amount of productions. (The production offices, wardrobe, staging... for The Pursuit of Happyness was the most recent big production. )

Let's all get in touch and meet up.

If we gel all the better!

I think the video coalition is a great spot for a meeting, because those who wanted to discuss specifics for the camera could just hop onto a workstation. cause...there are many. and like two avid suites, and a smoke station or something ridiculous like that.

I would suppose it would have a lot to do with what we want to do...
Do we want to just wrap about workflows, exhibit footage, or discuss production techniques. Maybe all of the above.
Could be that we'll end up being just a support group for one another...

HVX user: "Hi, I'm _______ and I'm a HVXaholic."
Everybody else: "Hi, _______"
HVX user: " Last week I forgot to import the Lastclip.txt file and I can't access the footage." (sob, sob)
Everybody else: (in unison) "We feel your pain, brother..."

BAVC might be best for tech stuff, but I often have a lot of gear/tools in my truck so the Presidio sounds good too.

Mcshyd has a HVX spot on his forum now. Maybe we should continue this over there.

I dig the idea of a SF forum and I want to support it any way possible. (Sorry, Jarred... I'm sure that we will all stay loyal to DVXuser)
