How many hours on your AF 100?

Hi to all!

I always wanted an AF 100 and now there are some offers of used ones for under 1k.

I found one that looks really good and with the 60p/50p upgrade (but not the A-Version) and three batteries for 750 bucks.
But it has 1100 hours on it.

I dont think thats a big problem, because there are no moving parts etc..
(I remember tape-based cameras with over 3000 hrs.. :) )

But i want to ask you if there are some problems, maybe with the LCD or something on your Af 100s after long time using?
What are your hours meter showing and whats your experiences?

Thank you!

3000 hours per se isn't a problem. But there's a big difference between a camera that has spent its life in a nice clean temperature-controlled studio, versus one that has been heavily used by an ENG crew, tumbling around in the back of a truck or used for run'n'gun shooting in all kinds of weather and conditions. I'd look at the physical condition of the body panels and check for dust around the buttons, overly loose or tight hinges and latches, scratches on the LCD and such to try and evaluate how rough a career it may have had. Check whether the SD cards fit well in the slots and are easy to insert and remove. Of course, you should evaluate the picture to make sure there are no burns, dead pixels or serious dirt on the sensor. Actually, my hunch is that a camera with that many hours may have accumulated them mainly being powered up on a tripod in a studio or classroom, and might therefore be in relatively good shape. It would actually be hard to have shot that many hours in the field without seriously beating the camera to death. It should be easy enough to see that amount of wear and tear with a quick external inspection.

Thanks for your answers!

Unfortunately its an internet offer, so i cant check the SD-Slots etc. But the Pics looks almost like new, only some scratches on the tripod-plate area. Even the LCD has no scratches. I pulled the trigger and and hope the best..

But im still interested in some information from longtime users of the Af100! How many hours, any problems, repairs? THX
