Hi,
Got my DVX100A 6 years ago when it was released. it doesnt have autofocus & gain in 24f mode and neither has the squzee mode.
I know the latest DVX100B does it all (above)
Was there an another DVX100A update between these 2 versions? I am talking about North America only...
Thanks in advance...

dvx100a does do squeeze
it doesnt have 24f, 24f is from canons hdv camcorders it has 24p and 24pa

i have never worked with the dvx100a but i own a dvx100b and owned a dvx100(first model) and they all have autofocus and gain and squeeze mode the only thing is on squeeze your image will actually appear squeezed with dvx100b the picture is unsqueezed for viewing

there was only the dvx100, dvx100a. dvx100b i have never heard of anything in between

I'm not an expert but....

I'm not an expert but I think your camera is broken.

I guess i was trying to avoid typing few extra letters(p+pa). By 24f that is what i meant, but thanks for the correction, technically you are right.

I got the answer though: My camera is DVX100. (I thought they were all called DVX100A in north America) So total 3 versions are out there.
Just to clarify it again: In 24p & 24pa no gain, no autofocus, and no squeeze at all in my model. My camera isnt broken.
(Yes there is letterbox and it is entirely different)
Thanks again

That makes sense

That makes sense

It know make sense. I have a DVX-100A and often use DVX-100B but I don't have much DVX-100 experience. My original post still stand though. If you did have a DVX-100A and did not have those features then it is broken. Glad to hear yours is not. Mine has over 800 hours and I cross my fingers every time I use it that it will hold out until I can swing a suitable Panasonic upgrade.
