How low will they go?

I've been looking around the websites for the past month or so, and I've noticed prices of the Dvx's dropping by hundreds everytime I check. It's most likely because many are upgrading to HD (Hvx). But how low do you think the prices of the Dvx100b/a will go in about 3 more months. I personally think It'll go below 2300.

Who cares? The equipment still does the same job.. just go and make something with it.

not for new.... and the people selling low on the boards really want to upgrade fast. remember and I think this has been said dozens of times in the past. the dvx100 isn't a HVX200 it's a completely different playing field in terms of product and cost... and panasonic isn't going to start selling the dvx for pennies just cause they have another line of camera.

You're looking at fraudulent websites. Look at legit websites (like B&H) and see that the DVX is still going for $3499 (less $400 for rebate = actual cost of $3100). You should be quite skeptical of anyone selling it for much less than that.

It will never go that low. As noted above it's @ 3100 with rebates - Give or take a couple bucks - That's as good as it will get. Ever

It will remain at this price-point. The HVX is not a replacement for the DVX. They are two separate cameras, with two different types of users. There will always (at least for the next few years) be a niche for a DVX-type camera at that price-point. I think the Panasonic rebate is as good as it will be for some time. Of course, at some point, there will be a replacement for the DVX, or a merging of product lines/technologies etc, but that won't be for quite awhile. The Panny rep said that they are fully behind the DVX, there are tons of those cameras out there, and it is a vastly different niche/usage/workflow than the HVX. I could have afforded the HVX, yet I still chose to go with the DVX for its specific uses.

Also, at reputable, authorized dealers, the camera should be roughly $3,500 (not including the $400 rebate). If you see it for much less, that is probably some internet bait-n-switch/unauthorized/refurbished/b-stock/conflict diamond scam.

Good Luck!

I didn't mean any disrespect to anyone, I just thought I'd ask this question. Its just interesting to see, yes, you're all right I've been looking at user quotes, people selling them, real low too just to upgrade. Thats what I was talking about =).

True, with a Conflict-Diamond DVX, you could upgrade to an HVX with two 8Gb P2 cards!!!

This guy trying to sell a Dvx says it was refurbished by Panasonic themselves. Hes selling it with a 4 year transfer warranty, and original invoice and everything. Is it the same when it is refurbished by Panasonic?
