How long to get rebate battery/card?

Question about the rebate.. since we get no notification of when the items ship.. How do I know that UPS/FEDEX/whatever didn't just drop the package at my door while I'm at work? Or for those of you who already received it, are they making the package signature required?

I had heard that Amazon.com wasn't an authorized reseller so purchases made thru them might not qualify for the rebate. However, I just checked my rebate status and it appears that it's in the system and for "Retailer" it says "All Others". Phew! I was worried I was going to get hozed since I bought from Amazon, but it now appears all is well in the universe.

I purchased mine from Amazon and received my battery and SD card on Monday of this week. I actually hadn't even considered the fact that Amazon might not be an authorized dealer, so I was a bit bummed out that I wouldn't get the rebate items. I contacted Amazon to see if they were authorized, and they couldn't even tell me. Don't get me wrong, I am a big Amazon fan, but I thought that was strange. I think in the end it may depend on who the distributor is that Amazon gets the camera from, sometimes it might be considered authorized, other times not.

I guess.

Was the battery + card shipped with signature required?

Been 6 weeks and no Battery and SDHC card....

Checked the website, it says :
Current Status: Fulfillment

MadHMC,

I'm pretty sure you bought your camera just after I bought mine (end of March, right?) and I don't have my battery/card yet, either. Mine also says "Fulfillment" and 8-14 weeks out so that puts me in June or July at the latest. Do you want me to contact you if/when I get mine in?

By the way it's worth mentioning to you that another member here needed their battery quickly for an upcoming shoot. They explained this to a Panasonic phone rep and as a result got their battery I think just a few days later. If you're desperate give that a shot.

TigerFX,

Not glad, but assuring to hear i'm not the only one. Haha.

I think they are hesitant about sending out that precious battery. My buddy bought the HMC150 a few weeks after me and he all ready got the 16GB card.

I believe April 15th was the last day of the Battery + 8GB rebate.

Good thing I really havent 'needed' the battery yet. I have another 2600mhz that came with the HMC70 that I switch around. I hope I dont eat those words before the battery comes :P.

Yeah man, let me know when you get yours. Thanks!

::checks the mail box:: empty!

Ok, well now I need the battery by the 27th! Tiger you get yours yet? This is ridiculous.

No, but I remember calculating at one point that it might come as late as July. 8-14 weeks, right? 16 weeks is four months, so April, May, June, July.

I'm going to literally start harassing them every day until I get it. THEY are gonna be the ones putting MY number up at donotcall.gov !!! This is just dumb.

I need that battery in two weeks for a wedding!

Side note: two of the large batteries should easily get through a wedding day, right? I don't leave the camera on all day. I would have the puny little battery as an emergency backup.

2 large batteries and 1 small should get you through the day fine. I did an 8 hour shoot with the camera on 85% of the time and I barely made it through the day.

Ok. I'm usually pretty conservative. I know it takes a while for the 150 to fire up, so I probably shouldn't turn it off all the time out of fear of missing something. I'm also not gonna leave it on just to leave it on either though.

Thanks HT.

Update (kinda): I also called Panasonic rebates, they have me approved but the battery is back ordered as others said. No estimate on when it will be in.

I got a nice suprise when the UPS truck rolled up. A mysterious package from "The Advertising Checking Burea" in Tennessee contained my 8GB SDHC card and the big battery (which is huge, btw!).

Hopefully you guys will get yours soon, too. :)

@TigerFX - You know that's about the last thing I would have expected when I saw a new post in this thread.

LUCKY!

@Brad_c/Humanoid Typhoon - I got through a 6-7hr wedding with really just 1 big IDX 5,000mAh batt. It lasted all the way up to the last dance. Id say 2 big batts will be plenty for a typical wedding.

Hey MadHMC, do you have that number? I've been waiting since JANUARY, and I bought two cameras.

Thanks!

Sure, help annoy them about running out.

Got my stuff today as well. Feel like I wasted money on the IDX now, but I guess I'll keep it just in case.

Got my battery and 8GB card today.. why did panasonic put their cards in such a facny and complicated sliding case? so unnecessary...
