How long a wait for IDX?

How long are you folks waiting to get your IDX battery system once you send in the certificate to JVC (for those who got the deal when they bought the camera, like me)? I sent mine in a week ago, and am hoping it will get here within the next month. Am I dreaming?

I'm also a little concerned about availability, since every IDX system on B&H says "out of stock." I'm wondering if there's a supply problem.

If supply is not an issue and you sent your cert in via FedEx or Certified Mail then you should get it within 2 weeks of them having your cert in hand.

I just sent in mine paperwork via FedEx on the 6th. Hopefully it will come in the next few weeks. I see that you are in Maryland as well. Where did you get your camera?

I got mine from Texas Tapeworks. They had a deal advertised on the DVInfo forum. Camera was $5200 and had the certificate for the Battery deal. It is also an updated "A" model.

I am in Laurel, MD.

Any word on your battery package yet? I believe that you sent yours in a few days before me. Mine was overnighted on the 6th.

I actually talked to JVC about that this morning. The rep said they're completely out of stock right now. They're expecting a big shipment, but she wasn't sure when it would be in, or if the shipment would be large enough to cover all the orders that have come in. It didn't fill me with great confidence, to be honest. By her tone, I wouldn't expect anything within the next three weeks to a month, and it could be longer than that. I may end up going with an Anton Bauer package, just to make sure I have enough power for a shoot I have in mid-June. That's how concerned I am.
 
Oh great. I was thinking that it would come in a couple of weeks since that is what everyone else who sent in their paperwork received theirs in.

Do you have the number for JVC? I was in a hurry and forgot to copy the cert before I fedexed it in to JVC.

I talked to JVC this afternoon. My name is near the top of their list and they are expecting a shipment in next week, though not enough to fill all the certs they received last minute before the deadline. They said that it will be another couple of weeks before they get all the certs filled. The batteries are shipping from California.

So Keith, if you got yours in around the same time as I did, then you should receive yours in about 2 weeks. That should be plenty of time for your shoot in June.

I will let you know if I hear anything else.

Excellent, Dan. Thanks for the update. I'd sure like to not have to spend another grand or so on another system.

Vision Quest,

I was told 2 weeks ago that mine would be shipping soon. Still waiting. I will call JVC tomorrow and see what is happening. This is driving me nuts!!!

I called the other day and was told that they got my certificate April 13, which means noboby opened it for more than a week, since they should have had it within the first few days of April. The rep told me that the latest batch came and went, without mine being included. She said she "thinks" that mine should go out in the next batch, which she anticipated coming in around mid-May, although she could give me no guarantees. I'm supposed to call her back then. She also mentioned a backlog of something like 500 orders. If mine doesn't go out in the next shipment, I'm going to have to consider Anton Bauer, although that would really rot, since I don't wanna spend another $1,000-plus on batteries. Sheesh...

That is unfortunate. I think this whole IDX promo worked out badly for JVC.

If you went to NAB you might have noticed that out of all of the cameras on the floor only 1 had an IDX system. The rest were using Antons. Hmm.
