How is my Pentax K-5 footage quality compare to Canon and Panasonic DSLR?

really curious if the quality of my k-5 footage can match canon dslr or even panosonic dslr (since I only have pentax k-5)...
no manual control in video mode really borther me a lot, but if the quality is as good as canon, I can still live with it right now....

this is an amateur video I shoot. nothing professional...but can give an overall impression of video quality I think.

after 2m it is just people talking in Chinese..so can skip...
color has been graded

or maybe all DSLR has video quality that is on par with each other..no matter what brand it is...
maybe with panosonic being a bit ahead??

Thanks for posting your film - we don't get to see much Pentax material here. Did you have an overheating issue with the K5 when shooting a lot of video?

I'll be interested to see what Pentax put out this year following the Richo take over (I've got a set of old Pentax primes waiting).

image quality seems reasonably nice, but lack of manual exposure control is definitely a problem: I think your comment that "my K-5 footage still looks like from a video camera" comes mostly from the clipped highlights and shadows in lots of shots

I do not know about overheat issue since I do not shoot single clip for long time..besides the AVI clip from k5 is extremely large..in 1080p mode, it can only record 5-6 mins at one time. very limited.

ye I think so, does not look like film.
but at that time, I did not know it is always best to dial contrast all the way down when shoot video, I set the contrast pretty high at that time..so the highlight/shadow performance should be somewhat better after I turn the contrast in camera all the way down.
although k-5 use that amazing sony 16mp sensor which has super DR for photo, but seems that is different story for video.
