How important is winning to you?

At anything. Sure, we all strive to be the best we can, I hope, but how or what does it mean, if anything, to you previously and/or currently ?

I hope that's not too stupid of a question.

I'll start.

I've always strived to win but preferred to lose.
In the past, getting top scores in some of my school classes meant, to me, that I wasn't being pushed hard enough. I should be getting B's and C's. Then I'd be happy.

So, to me, winning something is something that you can sow onto your jacket and that's cool. But what's after that? Now what? Haha.

I've always been terrible at everything I tried, except maybe bowling. So winning wasn't an option. It was more of "just don't come in last."

Card / Board games, though ... I'm cut-throat.

It really depends, sometimes you have this day when youre doing your thing great and you can do sooo much easily but then where you need to compete with someone and you have your regular day... its kinda not that important for me if i win or lose, cause i know myself that i can do better ,its just i didnt pushed myself hard enough or had bad day.
I bet many people who compete in olympics did much better during trainings than on actual olympics competitions.

Former college basketball coach John Chaney said, "Winning is an attitude." I agree. It is the daily effort, determination, and dedication which define winning.

That being said, it is good to be the king.

My only thought on winning is that I find it funny that the people most concerned with it usually never even try out of fear of not attaining it.

It all depends on how you define winning, doesn't it?...Somedays, just finding the optimism to get out of bed is a victory.

If you finally get to sleep with that hot chick and the next day your grape sac itches like hell are you a winner or a loser?

Winning at anything strategic is important to me. Of course most of my income comes from playing poker, so...lol
