How Far will YOU go

If I can make a decent living from creative work I'll be stoked. The fact that I'm currently getting paid to write, play around with broadcast equipment and take photographs is very satisfying on a personal level (especially fresh out of university), if I could earn something closer to a living wage from it I'd be happier though!

I'm starting to work on commercials a bit, and may have a producer role in a prime-time TV series soon - so things are moving forward. I'll see where it takes me. Feature films are where I'd like to end up eventually (but so would a lot of people!). I figure you should always shoot for the stars, if you fall short... well, if I end up directing beer commercials I'll be a happy man!

From the little I've seen of it so far, this doesn't seem like an industry that you can force your way into easily. Produce good work, talk to the right people and you might end up somewhere you like.

I want to join Zak's club too:

if i can make just enough money to be self-sufficient at it, i will die happy.

I also think upon viewing work by members here, and comparing it to indie film in general, I can see several members here "making it". Defining that is I suppose subjective, but I mean making a comfortable living doing this, and often doing what they desire.
