How do you use FFMBC to convert DNXHD MXF to mov?

ffmbc -i "D:\my_mxf_file.mxf" -threads x -vcodec v210 -acodec copy "D:\my v210 file.mov"

x= number of cores in your machine, eg 4
-acodec an -will disable audio
-by changing extension in output file to avi you can create v210 AVI file
-vcodec prores -b 300M -will create ProRes file at 250Mbit- ffmbc allows to create ProRes files with unrestricted bitrate- 300Mbit will keep very good quality- near lossless.

As far as I know ffmbc does not read MXF files from HyperDeck (maybe latest build does).

Kolak,

Thanks for you reply but I'm even more confused. Where does this line of code go? Where did you find all the information to put in the code.
I found no information on the FFMBC site with an explanation of how to use it.

Thank you,

Barry

FFMB site provides only source code, which needs to be compiled to create an exe (dll) file. You need some knowledge to do it.

You can download ffmbc.exe file from here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/8r29zc

extract ffmbc.exe and pthreadGC2.dll (from static folder) and put into root of C drive.

This is command line transcoder, so you execute command from DOS window. Type cmd in Run window and than you have to navigate to C:\ level and type your command.

There are GUIs for it with batch processing and presets- I will make some zip file later- this will make your life easier :)

Thank you Kolak.

When ffmbc finishes rendering it says in red there are two missing parts. Could these be the 2 sound files? if so do they need to be ecluded in the command line?
Thanks again.
