How do you use DVX as a deck?

I am in a bind and need to record a sequence back onto a mini dv tape and unfortunately have to use a camera - I have two 3 chip cameras. The DVX of course and a Panasonic GS150. How do I take my sequence from FCP and record it back onto tape.
FCP reads the GS150 fine and that is what I use to digitize, but when trying to go out on it or DVX, all I get is a blue screen.
Help would be appreciated and I will be buying a deck soon, just got to get this done.

probably you have to set the firewire as the AV input for the dvx (maybe it's set on the analog input)
