i have some action stuff i shot at 18 fps and its on the same time line as my 24 fps footage. The 18 fps stuff is too fast. I how I slow it down just a bit in FCP?

If you right click on the clip in the timeline, then click on "Clip Speed" then change the speed to something less than 100% it will slow down the clip.

cool, that was easy enough, but now footage looks choppy on the part i slowed it down at....is that the trade off?

Generally speaking your action stuff is shot too slow. For slow motion you want to start with higher fps.
