I had two other questions:

How do you frame in post?

Is there a wide angle adapter that I can user filters with.

BTW, I'm shooting with option 1. But limited mattebox and filter support is forcing me to look at option 2.

What's the best technique for framing in post? When you do this, what aspect ratio do you aim for? 1.85:1, 2.35:1, or Ben-Hur 2.76:1?
 
2.35:1 is standard movie widescreen

I did some 3:1 stuff recently, looks kick ass.

To frame, FCP has a filter called widescreen. You can adjust the ratio as well as the image's position.
