How do you remove duplicate frames?

in FCP my footage doesn't have duplicate frames when i move the scrubber frame by frame, but after exporting i notice my footage has duplicate frames which makes my footage look choppy when adding visual fx, etc.

here's the footage: http://www.dirtymartinithemovie.com/video/dirty_intro_choppy.mov and if you move frame by frame you'll notice the video frames are duplicated but the muzzle flash (done in after effects) plays normally as it should.

does anybody know how i can remove the duplicate frames in the video footage? is this something that needs to be done in compressor?

What did you shoot this with? Because it is literally 2 frames of the same shot...so 15fps in a 30fps signal. Sony CINEFRAME mode does this "fake" 24p look (VERY fake)...and it is the only camera that I know that does this frame doubling as opposed to the proper 2:3 pulldown method that the DXV-100 employs.

I find these 'duplicate' frame from one of two sources...

Ill reversed telecine clips where fields get reversed or when watching telecined footage in a setting that won't show all lines of resolution.

I'll wager you have the second. How did you get the footage off the HVX? Log and Transfer? What are your sequence settings?
