How do you read the cameras hours used...

this is a newb question but I just bought a FS100 and the hours used it says 5x10hr does that mean 5 hours or 50 hours? And if it is 50 hours is that a lot for this camera?
Thanks in advance

I know it is not 5 hours. I assume it means between 40 and 50 hours, and then flips to 6X10 HRs at 51 hours (maybe) In any case that is no time at all, and with no mechanical tape system to wear out, there is less to care about with hours.

My question is, is that the time that the camera is turned on, or just the time spent recording? Again, not that it matters, and I haven't paid much attention to the meter to know myself.

Thank you! Great question this is the first time I own a Sony I have had a HVX and own nothing but Canon products but I am going to purchase an FS100 that has 5x10hr showing. Just wanted to make sure that wasn't a lot of hours for these sort of cameras.
