GH2 How do you like to set exposure

Hi guys, first post!

I'm new to video and I'm looking for workflow ideas for setting exposure.

I'm running the camera (Panasonic G6) in manual and planning on setting the shutter at 125 (I'm shooting at 60p), the ISO low, and the f stop on what I want for depth of field. Then I'll adjust exposure using a variable ND filter. I haven't tried this yet because the ND filter will arrive on thursday.

Do you like to use spot or full metering for help in getting your exposure set right?

Sometimes. For example, in this shot I exposed using a Spot Meter iPhone app (Cine Meter):

What I usually do is set my desired ISO given the general brightness of the scene (this one was 400). Then I position lighting to where I like it and then the Spot Meter will tell me what to set the f stop on my lens to. Sometimes I know it will be super dark, so I just set my lens wide open / ISO at max I'm comfortable with, and then deal with whatever I can get.
