GH2 How do you handle the over-sharpening on the GH2?

You are lucky to have that lens. I have a Yashica ML 35 f2.8, which is basically Yashica branded Distagon. It is also fantastic. The more I look at the filtered version of the two images, the better it looks. I am going to order the filter next.

Kholi is boosting Tiffen's B.D. Filter sales this week for sure!

xD you know what? You make a good point. I want to test more filters for the community, I'm going to see if they're willing to let me test some stuff out for you guys.

But get those B.D 3's . They're keepers.

That's a more positive way to look at still having a copy. Haha. I do like it, though, and now I miss having them all. one day I will get a full set again.

Also, I have to agree, the more I look at the BD3 version ,the more I'm liking it overall in comparison. Which is super strange! Looking forward to trying more out.

I took the liberty to try and grade Kholi's image a bit (the filtered version): http://www.fourseasonshd.com/KholiGraded2x.png

- 16 bits per channel
- Levels 16-235
- Curves
- Shadow/Highlight filter
- Saturation
- Gaussian blur
- Unsharp mask
- Noise

Instead of GH2 mosaic there is now a nice round film grain in the shadows. Ideally all this would be done on 3k or 4k upscaled material, but the computer has to be really hefty. I can not add these filters right now for a 1080p material without getting old in the process. I will remove Kholi's image, if considered not ok use.

No need to remove it! Have all the fun you'd like!

Next time I'll grab DPX's if I can remember.

Thanks! The saturation is a bit on the strong side now, but overall no meaningful information seems to have been lost in this grading. All of the same detail can be found. The pixels have been arranged to a bit different configuration, plus there are more of them because of the noise filter.

Try a lower iso and deeper stop. I usually noticed it at 4~5.6, broad daylight or well lot situations.
