how do you do timelapse?

The 100 and a 100a had interval recording. You can set them to record for X amount of time every X number of seconds and walk away. The 100B is really only set up for stop motion animation and no time lapse. It can be set to record for X amount of time when you push the record button, but it can't be set to repeat this action on its own. You would have to push the record button.

I have read that you can use FCP via firewire and DVX to grab frames for time lapse. I have never tried it though. My 17" MacBook is on its way though and I plan to give it a try when I get it set up.

Where is the interval recording option on the DVX 100? (non A or B) I just recently bought one and I'm still trying to figure everything out. Thanks!

If you're looking for a simple shot like clouds rolling in or traffic whizzing around...shoot your scene for 20 minutes and speed it up 3000% in your NLE. These numbers are estimates and there is plenty of room for experimentation. Do a quick search for time lapse and I'm sure some others have given their settings.

If your talking about extremely long time lapse...you'll need a DVX100, DVX100A, or even a still camera with remote capture.
