no nikon adapters can show apertures, it's merely a small lever in the back of the lens.
well, they can, but it takes a little bit of work and only works for one lens. I have one of the less expensive Fotodiox adapters (~$30?) that I used exclusively with my Sigma 50-150/2.8, and using the AF100's spot meter I calibrated and marked the major f-stops. They're incredibly close, but they are marked... but again, only for that lens.
All quite aside from the original convo, but nonetheless, yeah... plenty of 3rd party manual lenses have aperture rings. Go nuts.
