How do people here store their lav cords?

I recently discovered that lavalier cords are notoriously fragile [I feel like a fool writing this]. I want to keep my cords in my camera bag, however, so I always have them available. How do people store their cords in their bag so they're safe?

Pocket tackle box, but be sure to get one that has a large compartment as opposed to one that is permanently divided into lure-size wells.

Plano makes one that's perfect... comes with removable dividers.

Travel Q-tip boxes. They're small, clear, and I label the outside so I have find the mic I want quickly.

I bought 2 of these at a local big-box store (Fred Meyer's):

It was in the sporting goods section & was under $5.

I keep my COS11D in it's own box, but I only wrap the ME2 around the G2 units and use the clip to hold it together.

I use a hard shell sunglasses box I had lying around, excellent protection and perfect size for the 2 lav's that I carry in my shoulder bag.

What's really great about this thread is that it shows how something so simple can be solved with such a diverse selection of resources. The moral of the story: use whatever hardshell, compact storage box you can find whether you buy cheap or have something in the attic that fits.

On a personal note, I would never store a lav wrapped around the transmitter. That's going to kill a lav in a short time. What I like about my Plano pocket tackle box is that it is two-sided, so I keep my Countryman lavs on one side and my Sennheiser lavs in the other side.

Altoid boxes lined with gaffers tape. Also good for spare batteries and small screws. If you put batteries in these boxes be sure and line with tape etc...

I really like these.
Small with little compartments for accessories. Only a few bux.

This is the professional solution for cheap.

It's not just for the lav... you have a little spot for each accessory... windscreen, vampire, tie-clip, etc. Fitting your complete "lav kit" in a box the size of a small bar of soap. (notice the shape is even smart for your camera bag).

I would have ordered two of them if I could have just clicked the button. But if I have to fool around getting a "quote" then it isn't worth the aggravation. These people don't understand online sales. What kind of business model justifies manually sending out "quotes" for $5 accessories? *also shaking my head*
