How do most of you guys export your final footage? Do you use Pro Res, 8 bit, 10 bit, HD, HDV etc. What do you find the best method to export your final video to DVD, such as a short film to be shown to an audience?

Thanks in advance peeps :)

I generally edit and export in ProRes 422 - then use Compressor to transcode for DVD, Blu-ray, iPhone or the web.

I use Edius Neo 2.5 which accepts the .mts files immediately - no effing about. I export as Canopus Lossless for archiving and .m2ts for bluray distribution.

I am using Sony Vegas 9e which GREATLY improved it's handling of native avchd... as energy said... no effing about... it also is the only PC program that has full 32 bit color. I render out to cineform for a master and 20mbit mpeg4 for blu-ray and other stuff. Really virtually indistinguishable.
