How do I sync up my DVX100a with an XL1s

I'm shooting an on stage comedy show tomorrow night and I'll be working with a second camera man. He'll be shooting with a Canon XL1s. Sorry if this is a relatively elemntary question, but how do I sync our footage for easy editing in my NLE? I'll be recording audio from a mixer on the DVX100a, if that helps. Thanks.

Best way to sync is to take the XL1 and beat yourself over the head with it until you finally see the light.

Basically, you'll have play with your scene files on the DVX. Forget about shooting in 24p or any P for that matter.

Hook both cams up to monitors and then flip between the first 4 scene files in the DVX. Pick the one that looks closest to the XL1. Then go into the scene fileand tweek the settings till it looks as close as possible. Don't count on you f stops matching since there's different amounts of glass on each cam, trust the monitors (if they're good ones). Of course you'll white balance both unit together, don't count on default.

I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER recommend mixing cameras. Especially when there are so many guys out there wiling to shoot with their DVX for next to nothing. Yet I've been on sets where we did it.

Thanks so much for the relpy, however it is WAY to late for me to change plans. The XL1s will shoot in 30p, so I was going to also shoot in 30p. So I guess I'm just going to have to sync up in my NLE manually then huh? Is there any other way?
