How do I shoot a time lapse shot

I've never really figured out how to do the time lapse shot on the hvx. Can someone explain how to set this up.

I want to shoot 2 different types of shots.

1. Sunlight coming through a window for approx. 3-4 hours.
2. Crowd walking downtown. (On this shot I may need help understanding what shutter to shoot in because I want to get the ghosting type effect of everyone going in fast motion but you can't really tell what the people are doing.

thanks in advance.

I really suggest readig the Manual. It covers it in there, and it also covers it in Barry's book.
Interval mode.

As for blurring, use the FrameRate Hack plsu play with the shutter degree. Do a search on HVX part of theses forums, and it'll have all the info for you. Search is your friend.. This has been covered many times before.

its in the manual
or you can look through the menu for recording set up then change interval time
iof the frames you can set it from 2frames to 2 hours or something.
most timelapses with action are about 5-10 second interval, and the longer the shutter is set the blurrier things in motion will look. and more exposed the image will be

Be aware that interval recording is only available in VIDEO CAM mode -- if you are used to working in FILM CAM mode, you'll have to change the scene file.

thanks everyone, I'm one of those impatient people that reads the manual as a last resort. I find to get much more info from our friends here plus most people give their experiences. Just like THoff for example reminding to switch to VIDEO CAM mode...thanks!
