How do I load scene files from an SD card?

Okay,

so I formatted the SD card in the camera.

Than, I connected the card to a card reader to my mac.

I downloaded the .txt scene files, saved 4 to my computer.

I went to the "card setup" menu, but it read "no file" for file 1,2,3 and 4

When I'm in my mac, do I save the file as .txt? what about the font? I have mac os font selected, should I try Unicode? Does that matter? This is complicated. Please help!! I am getting frustrated. the manual is not helping me at all!

Where did you download the scene files from? It could be that the header is for a specific camera and you need to replace it with your own, mine starts with:
Ver 1.00-00
AG-HPX370P
And indeed, AG-HPX370P is what's written on top of my camera. What you could try doing is saving to the slots first, loading the card on your mac, and than pasting in the text containing the actual scene file settings.

On the first HPX300 pages of this forum there is a STICKY post "DOWNLOADABLE SCENE FILES". Click the link in the post and read the "How To Install Scene Files" section.

From your post you missed a very important step.

Good luck!

If your using 370 scene files no change needed. The method is the same for the 300 and 370. I don't know what scene files you're trying to load or where you got them. If you can read the text file you can simply change a scene file that's already in the camera. Just change the numbers and name it what you want. The manual tells you how to save it or revert back to the default. These cameras are very flexible as far as this goes. Headers in the text file will say what camera that scene file is for. For example, you can't use a scene file for a 3000 in a 370. The adjustment options are not the same. Experiment, test, and see what works for you. I really doubt you'll break it.

I agree with Billrat, simply goto the Panasonic site mentioned on the sticky on this forum and browse the differant "looks" they have. Download the file and open it with a simple text editor, turn on your camera and change each scene file to match the setting from the Panasonic file. I did put a post on that sticky with what i did, i simply dumped the standard camera scene files to the SD card and opened it with a text editor. I changed each scene to be a differant look, ie scene1 is now say "Vivid" scene2 now say "Digineg". Once saved on you computer, put back in the camera and reload to the cam and presto. a differant look at the turn of the dial .

But the simple method is simply changing the camera scene by hand to match the values on the downloaded Panasonic file:)
