the overall bitrate is only 23m. I often see the post about hacked GH1 titled 54mbps or even higher, so I guess this is an unhacked one?

could anyone give my a clear-cut answer about what is the watershed for hacked and unhacked gh1?

Thank you so much !

Max bitrate for a stock GH1 is 17Mbps...so yours appears to be hacked, although conservatively so.

Hi, there. I just got a GH1 from my friend, but he didn't tell me if he had hacked it or not.

Check your firmware version in the GH1 SETUP menu: [VERSION DISP.] should say Ver. 0.0 if hacked.

You can film something detailed, like leaves on trees, then use StreamParser as a better representation of the bitrate which will show changes as the video progresses:

StreamParser Install.zip

I installed the software and tested some new footage I shot, but I don't know how to make sense of this report, can someone help me out ?

On the far right in StreamParser, click the "Switch to Time Mode" button.

Under that button, on the right side will appear numbers in pink in a column. Those represent the bitrate; for example 25.000.000 refers to 25mbps. The pink lines throughout the graph shows the bitrate changes throughout the graph/timeline of the video.

On the far left is a slider; move it up to scrunch the timeline smaller to see the whole length of the timeline or down to stretch it out and look at specific points in the timeline.

yingtaoshenfu - Your GH1 definitely has the hack - and appears to a version of the "100Mbps Max Latitude Patch" installed, due to the 108Mbps Maximum Overall bit rate.

The "Overall bit rate" depends on the detail and motion in the scene captured. I took a shot of the full moon a few days ago, and the shot (nearly 6 minutes,) read as less than 3 Megabits per second, as there was a lot of dark sky around it which the encoder took no notice of.

This is weird. the bit rate is lower than the maximum bit rate?
Ignore that, it always seems to read this whatever hack is installed. look at the "Maximum Overall bit rate".

Ok, I got this image when I switched to timelinegh132.jpg
it seems bit rate never rise higher than 44mps, too low? I shot this footage at a birthday party, there were many "detailed" stuff there.
