How do I get a JPEG image to playback in EX1?

I'm using Avid MC with an anamorphic frame crop. Once export the frame out as a jpeg image for frame guiding, how do I get this image to display/play back in EX1?

So, after 55 views, I guess that means there is no way to record a picture and playback in the EX1 then. I was wondering if I can make a video and shove it back to the SxS card and playback in the EX1. Will this work?

Sure, it works fine... or so I am told. You have to use Clipbrowswer to create the BPAV structure to put on the card. Then you should be able to do a media playback in the camera.

Are you just trying to draw guides on the camera or something?

Yes. I am creating a guide for the anamorphic aspect ratio. Okay, so let me know if the steps below are incorrect or missing.

1. create the guide in Avid MC
2. export as what format? QT-Ref?
3. use Sony ClipBrowser to create the BPAV folder
4. move this clip over to the SxS card

Anything else?

You know the EX1 has 4:3 guideframes in the camera already. Are you shooting for NTSC? That's what you'd use.

Isn't anamorphic the same as 16:9 within an NTSC sequence? All you do with that is shoot normally, then drop your 16:9 footage into a 4:3 sequence. Or you edit natively at 16:9 then export as NTSC anamorphic. I don't think there is a special anamorphic guide. It's either 4:3 or 16:9.
