How do I avoid these video artifacts?

I'm running some light tests for my Panasonic DVX-100A. I'm running it in wide 24p mode. An image is lit with sunlight on the image-left and PAR light on the image-right.

The left-side circle of the image is more-or-less fine. The two right-side circles of the image are showing artifacts where Red is bleeding over the image and causing red pixels over the background.

How can I avoid this?

Stop lighting with 2 temperature light sources? Limit my use of the colour red? Camera miscalibration?

DV doesn't handle situations like this well. Reds will be especially problematic. There are a few things you can do:

1. Lower the chroma level in camera.
2. Apply a Chroma Blur to the horizontal pixels in you NLE.

Yeah, I usually keep myself within conservative DV limits; but, I thought I'd see how far the DVX community has gone to push these contrast/chroma/etc limits.

BTW, nice cinematography on the 'No such thing' short. The rack focus on the zombie/sidemirror... mini35?
