How do I avoid interlace problems?

I set my dvx100b to shoot in progressive mode but when I put video into final cut and there is fast movement I see the dreaded interlace lines! I read that the dvx plays back interlaced. If that is true why is progressive even available? I need to get rid of those ugly lines. I shoot in scene file 5. Anybody know how I can fix this?

Also, a question about focus. Why is it that when I set my camera to manual focus that it keeps reverting back to auto focus on its own? I will get a subject and focus on the face manually. Then if I move the camera to the left or right it trys to focus on the other object while it is set in the manual focus mode! Why is that? Is there a way to lock the camera into manual focus?

Change the sequence settings to match your video. Make sure the field dominance is set to none, and that the time base is correct. What frame rate did you shoot?

I set the frame rate at 30p. On my viewfinder I see two displays though. One says 30p and the other says 23p. Do you know why I would see two different displays like that? Now you say to change the sequence settings. Where would I find those?

Maybe it's the auto-iris your noticing. That can be turned off as well (button next to iris wheel). Just guessing though..
