There's a few shots where they must be using a cable cam or dolly. Being that its on the snow makes me wonder what they shot the following clips...

1) [00:16 mark] - As the guy slides down the stairs. Judging by the angle of the movement doesn't look like a cable cam. What do you think?

2) [00:20] - Over the gap. Is that a cable cam?

3) [00:24] - Shot through the fence. Think they used a dolly?

4) [00:46] - From stairwell. Again dolly?

5) [00:58] - Between snowmobilers. Must be a track dolly?

6) [01:08] - Through trees. Is this a cable cam? How high must it be since you can't see the cable?

7) [01:36] - Off the cliff. How'd they get this one? Can't be a cable cam since its a cliff. What do you think?

EEK! AVALANCHE! Scary stuff!! (seriously! It would be nice to see the guy get up.)

Lots of different rigs in there.

Some are good basic dolly moves (including #7 I'm sure). I think the gap probabaly is a CableCam. Lots of Helicopter footage of course (it is snowboarding). There could be some quick Steadicam shots in there in some of the urban stuff too.

Very very very good looking stuff. I'd hire them in a heartbeat.

If you look closely at the avalanche clip it's the same jump as #7 and you can see the guy moving forward to the left of the jump. can't make out what kind of rig he has though.

How portable are those dolly setups? and how well would it work in the soft snow?

i have seen some snowboarders with a steadicam on and then using the slowmotion to help make the camera movement look even slower, but since these guys are much more professional they might use a more advanced way

My guess would be dollytracks on appleboxes for most of the shots, cause if those things get rusted, thats a lot of money down the drain. And for the other couple of shots, i would guess some kind of cable rig.

So would a glidecam work well for walking through the snow and still getting steady shots? Would a 2000 work for a A1 or is a 4000 required?

Very slick stuff. I would love to see some BTS. That poor guy tried to duck under the snow like it was a wave. Wrong season. As with the others, I hope he made it out.
