How can the firestore record the PN modes?

From all I read the PN modes don’t transfer over firewire which I thought is what connected the firestore to the camera. How can it then record?

it just doesnt record PN to firestore

The HVX will not output PN on th efirewire port. The firestore, at least in firmware 4.0 (and maybe 3), will record PN but you have to shoot in 30p or something like that. The record setting is done on the firestore itself.

oh i see. So you coudln't be recording on a P2 card at 30pn and the firestore at 30pn at the same time.

Correct. You could do 30P on the P2 card and 30pN on the FireStore, but you can't do 30pN to both.
