How can I know?

I shot some footage the other day in 24pA and the images almost look like they are slide show on my 46'' widescreen HD TV. The resolution doesn't look very good either--granted I know that the DVX100 is just a Standard Definition camera. Then I popped in some footage I shot probably at 60i. It still has what I feel like are too many jagged edges. For instance, on candlesticks in the background.

So, am I just too used to bluray and HD content, or is there possibly some artifacts being introduced when I burn from Adobe Premiere / Encore CS4? How can I know?

I have been trying to learn about the settings from the DVX Book, but I just want to rest assured that I am getting close to the best image I can get out of the camera.

Anyone interested in me sending them my DVD's so you can take a look?

To me it sounds like bad render settings

theres another thread somewhere on here that talk about that.

search for the ideal render setting for your program/needs

Rendering in Premiere is only for the preview inside of Premiere. It has nothing to do with the output quality.

You might get more help if you post this in the Premiere Thread or go to the Adobe Forums for Encore.

could be render issues, could be dirty heads, could be sd on an awesome hd screen. Try playing unedited directly out of the camera to determine if its the editing system or the camera.

So I think I fixed the "slideshow" problem, but I am going to play directly from the camera to check the jaggies. Thanks for the suggestion Richter VE.
