How can I get my HVX200 to shoot video that is 1920 x 1080?

How can I get my HVX200 to shoot video that is 1920 x 1080? I was able to do it a couple years back. But now the biggest dimension I'm able to get it to is only 1280 x 1080. Can someone please help?

Thanks In Advanced

I really don't think you can -- the 200 is, by nature, a pixel-shifting creature. If you are able to remember how you did it some time ago, please let us all know! You could, of course, render it up, but that would not really gain you anything.

Drop the 1080 footy into a 1920x1080 sequence/timeline and DVCPRO being a thin raster format will expand and look normal and just fine.

Thanks Guys!!!! I was finally able to output a quicktime movie with the dimensions 1920 x 1280 using the HVX200. But i did it by using the Firestore FS100. For some reason it outputs the video with the 1920 x 1280 dimensions.

The HVX captures and processes footage in full 1080p. It gets there by pixel shifting the red, green, and blue sensors.

The reason you see 1280x1080 in your editor is because the recording format, DVCproHD does not use square pixels, but rectangular ones. Its pixel aspect ratio (PAR) is not 1:1 like AVC/mp4 or other formats. I don't know what the Firestore records to, but it must be a format that has the capability of having a square pixel aspect ratio.

HDV is the same way, it records HD 1080p to 1440x1080.
