I am gonna shoot a video for a friend and would love a scene where it's just really smooth slow motion. What should I set the camera to? I have FCE. Is there any thing I can do in post to achieve a smooth look .thanks>

If you don't have After Effects or anything like that I would stick to 50% slomo in FCE, that'll give you the best results. And shoot 60i.

there's alinkin the DVX clips section where the guy captured a REALLY nice slo mo...... look there, it's titled something with slow motion.

I've had good results in 30p at 50% playback speed - this process gives very smooth filmlike motion. Please explain why you would shoot 60i?

If you want smooth motion 60i is better since all the NLE has to do is seperate the fields and interpolate the images. You'll end up with 60fps motion on a half resolution image. If you shoot 30p the NLE has to interpolate whole frames to get to 60fps for 50% slomo.
