How can i extract DVCPro HD tape footage?

I have to get a large amount of DVCPro HD footage off the original tapes and onto my computer for editing, something like ProRes or DNXHD would be great.

None of the local news stations have DVCPro deck that works, and I haven't been able to find a good solution.

Would appreciate any ideas on how I can get this footage off these tapes.

Thank you!

Do you still have the original camera or access to a DVCPro HD camera? You may also try to find a post house that could transfer/digitize the footage and put it on a drive for you. OR just rent a deck. They are still in use and available.

The AJ-HD1400 will be your best choice. Not sure why you need to do Pro-Res when it can capture bit by bit native DVC Pro HD codec. Much smaller file size vs capturing via HD-SDI and Pro Res 422 codec. Plus full time code fr the tape will be retained. Clueless on how you can get the original TC data out of HD-SDI to a capture card. That was the biggest selling point fr Panasonic in 2007ish.
