The Matrix was on TBS the other night as I was jacking around with something... and when they pulled the bug out of him Neo shouts "jeepers creepers!"

 I wonder if that was really Keanu? Do they call the actors back when the flick goes to TV? I wonder if there's a selection of substitute words?

I think he should have shouted "cheesy rice!"

Hire some really good voice impersonators.

..ive always wondered that to...Like sometimes...it really sticks out like a sore thumb...and sometimes you cant tell.

They don't call the actors back. I mean some times them might but generally thre station has someone go over it.

Sometimes they do the edited version during production. More and more these days..

Yes Dakota!

ON the RES DOGS Special Features they make mention of doing some on-set for the 'T.V. version; I've also heard RR mention this

All the sets I've been on where this is an issue there's been a real take and the "TV Take". The TV take gets done last and no one seems to care how it turns out.

I apologize for bypassing the poo poo filter in this post, but it's necesary..

My fave silly dub/bleep/cut-out has to be in a TV version of"Spaceballs" when the original line:
"That's not a load of money, that's a s#it load of money!"
was silenced out by TBS to be:
"That's not a load of money, that's a load of money!"

..yeah.. nice..

I've seen a lot of BTS where they do alternate takes. As many have said, it's more common than it used to be, which is too bad since the only reason to watch R-rated movies on TV is to see how they butcher them (see Scarface). It often is very funny, and on the collector's DVD for Scarface they showcase all of the TV changes in a short presentation.

Even the adult industry has alternate angles and takes on scenes depending on the target delivery, cable or DVD.

They have gotten better...

I swear to christ I recall seeing Die Hard in 90 or early 91 on Fox,
and hearing, "Yippee-Kayee Butterfinger!"

Amazing stuff.
I'll never forget it.

 Thanks for giving me my new saying. From now on I say that to everybody I meet and I end all notes that way. (I'm in tears)

Yippee-Kayee Butterfinger,

Not really the same thing, but didn't someone post about translations from English to Japanese a while back?
