Hour meter?

I'm curious about the hour meter on the DVX100b. Does the meter show the amount of hours the camera is powered on, or the number of hours of actual recording? Thanks in advance for your answers. Hank

It's the number of hours that the heads are engaged with the tape. So, recording and sitting on with a tape in it before it goes to standby.
