Hot spots in footage...help

Hi, we are having some problems with a couple of our DVX's we use for shooting television in Australia.
Over the past 3 or 4 months, we have noticed our footage turning up with what looks like over exposed hot spots, particularly on faces.
We have taken the cameras in to the shop to be checked out and nothing was found to be wrong with the cameras.
Here are a few screen grabs which are particularly bad:

This one isnt too bad, but you can see on his nose and on the background, there are small parts which looks like they over exposed

I would appreciate any help or ideas that you could offer, we are coming to the end of our tether, we are getting this problem from every camera man we use.
Thanks guys

Looks like a simple exposure problem to me. The latitude on the DVX (or any DV camera) is very low, and therefore you are going to run into this problem when shooting with one. I would bet if you moved to Cine-Like gamma it would lesses this problem considerably.

That's not a camera problem, that's overexposure. Two things:

1) use your zebras set to 105, to make sure that NO zebras show up at all, and that should forever eliminate any hot spots.

2) You can also get better exposure rolloff if you use a gamma curve other than cinelike gammas. Cinelike has no knee protection and no highlight rolloff, so when you overexpose using the cinelike gammas, you get results like what you're showing. Try using the B.Press gamma with the knee set to LOW; that should really bring it under control.
