Horror Movie

Hey yall,

Im making a film for a Horror Movie film festival and I had some questions about stunts and acting ish stuff..

So for one scene I need them to dispose of a body in a garbage bag, what would be the best way to simulate a dead body in a garbage bag? I was thinking maybe tires.

And I need to have a gunshot scene, i was going to do a few different angle with this one, one being where I want the victim to be getting shot( not really shot obviously) and have blood come out. I was thinking some sort of pouch and someone off camera somehow trigger it to go off? And then lastly, for another angle I wanted to have the shooter get blood splatter on his face, which I assume the easiest way would be to use fake blood and put it on a spoon and throw it on him off camera.

Tires in the bag sounds like an interesting idea. Do a test and see how it looks.

The only thing I can say about the gunshot scene is this -- DO NOT use a REAL gun! And don't shoot blanks! Put the muzzle flash and smoke (if any), as well as the sound of the gunshot, in as a digital effect in editing. SAFETY FIRST! I can't stress this enough.

Oh, I wasnt going to use a real gun or shoot blanks that just seems very stupid.

I was wondering how people went about the whole fake blood and gunshot stuff.

Google "Squibs" - there are literally thousands of DIY posts regarding fake blood hits (though nowadays a lot of this is done in post, IE After Effects).

They can be done with compressed air (safer) or tiny firecrackers (you could really hurt someone). You can do a lot with an air compressor. Some people have made pipe rigs with several valves leading to thin tubing for multiple shots.

In "The Godfather", there's a BTS photo showing James Caan wired with dozens of strings of monofilament (fishing line). These were tugged very quickly, pulling out blood packs. Pretty primitive.

New Problem

So Im entered in this Horror movie film festival which is due October 22. I filmed a few scenes, but two of my three actors bailed on me. So I have to re work a horror movie with only one actor, does anyone have an idea of how to work a horror movie with only one actor? I've been thinking, but nothing that seems scary... And It sucks that they bailed so late, because I have like no time.

Ideas?
