I am working with a few local bands, recording their performances with my Sony hdr-fx7. I have a Rode VideoMic that does a nice job.
At a recent performance I was talking to the sound man and he wondered if I wanted to connect direct to the soundboard.
I did have have the connector to take the 1/4" adapter down to the 1/8" jack on the Sony, so I was not able to try it.
Has anyone tried hooking directly to a soundboard? If so, is there anything I need to consider? What additional steps might I need to take. Is there anything additional equipment I would need to make this work?
