Hoodman Wristshot Opinions please

Anybody using the Hoodman Wristshot? Curious if it is worth the price. Appears that it would enable you to hold the DVX a little steadier with less fatigue for your hand and wrist. It also appears that it might allow the left hand to operate focus and zoom a little easier for us old guys.

Can't justify a real steadicam unit right now, but thought this might allow a little better look to handheld shots plus avoid really sore wrists, etc.

Would appreciate pros and cons from people who have used it with the DVX. I've seen it mentioned in the forum, but no one has really given it a review. At $125, it might be worthwhile. Thanks.

I took a look at it a few weeks ago, thought it was a little too much. I did not see any real advantage to it on the wrist and went with a shoulder mount for stability and to also reduce the stress of the camera on the arms.

Would be interested to see if anyone has used one for sure.

I dont think its a good investment, get some rails and a shoulder mount used (the same rails for 35mm adapters) and use those. You want something that can be used in the future, so cheaping out to spend 200 on a wrist guard with a mount seems pointless. Unless you know for sure that your camera setup will not change for a set amount of time and you can pay it off quickly.
