Hoodman w/magnifier for GH1

Granted these are discontinued, but would those old Hoodman w/magnifiers work on the GH1 LCD (flipped out of course)? A 16/9 LCDVF is a bit out of price range for me at $150+

I found one of those, minus the magnifier, for $20 at Ametron here in Hollywood. I had a wallet sized magnifying card lying around, so I trimmed and bent its edges, put some gaffer tape for durability and to cut off the excess viewing areas, stuck some velcro on it and the Hoodman - and now I have an lcd hood w/ detachable magnifier. It works pretty well in aiding focus.

Brilliant! Thanks, may just go ahead and do this...does the Hoodman fit well around the LCD? Also see you had the Manfrotto release plate on sideways, I do the same so it can fit on my cavision rails that has a stupid screw sticking up so I can't have it lay flush on the baseplate

It fits great. I just had to tape up the excess velcro strap so it would hug the screen tighter. Good eyes spotting the sideways QR, nice to know that there's somebody else out there that rigs their camera in the same imaginative ways. For those that don't know, another benefit of the sideways plate is the ability to change batteries without having to move the plate out of the way.
