Figured Id share the email I just got from Hoodman for those who were not aware of their products.

"""
Thank you for contacting Hoodman about the new RAW-H2 cards. The new RAW-H2 cards will be the higher tech solution for all Panasonic P2 card applications and will come with a 5 year life warranty. We are waiting for Panasonic to post the new firmware upgrade on their website before we can start production on the cards. We anticipate that the 16 GB RAW-H2 cards will be released in late summer 2007 and that the 32 GB RAW-H2 cards will be released in late fall 2007. Pricing for the new RAW-H2 cards has not been set yet. We will place your inquiry into our file of customers to contact when the new cards are available.

Sincerely,

Cecilia Acero

five year life warranty?? That's a better warranty than what i got for my landrover... i'll buy it!! especially the 32GB... it'll be 1080p all the way for me!!!!

I just got off the phone with Cecilia and she didnt know the firm ware was released. So I advised her to set up an account here on the forum and she said she is doing it now.

The Card details are sketchy, but she said the game plan is to beat panasonic to market on the 32 gig, and be 20% lower in price.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Hoodman needs to get their act together if they want to play in this game. For them to be that much out of the loop is absurd.

Also, what makes it a "higher tech solution" -- the absence of a RAID controller?

I hold off on any loose words since she may be here any minute. But I agree that a company that's investing in such things to not know about such things is a little... uh??

I have to say I am a little mystified as why Hoodman would not be monitoring the Panasonic download site for the firmware daily.

If that is the condition precedent to getting the card out, I'd be camping out there following NAB.

Just seems a little unusual.

I do not see them coming out with the cards anytime soon. how did they not know the updates have been out? it has already been out for a month.

I have to agree.

I wish it were otherwise, but either Cecilia is aware of what R&D is doing or the company isn't as well committed as we all hope.

And I hope I'm wrong.

Maybe that was just an automated response email, well they better hope it is or they are in trouble.

Ya know, I emailed them a while ago and got the same answer.

I think the firmware upgrade was out a few days by then and I thought he meant that it would take 60 days from the release of the firmware. I didn't realize I should have told him that it was arlready out. I find it hard to believe they didn't know about this.

I just went to get my snailmail from my mailbox, and found a brochure from Hoodman (I'm an existing customer, so they have my address on file).

This was in the brochure -- if they could deliver this month as they say, they would make a killing:

I'll take 5 of whatever this guy is selling :) Cam I get a pre-order on a few of those 32 gig cards?

Hopefully they will be out by next month, and hopefully they will work flawlessly! No one around here has tried a "beta" H2 card?

They promised me a beta card at NAB and I reminded them of that in an email today. Of course, if I get beta product, then I'd be under NDA and couldn't say anything ;)

... but you could say that you hadn't received a beta card yet, right, because that'd be true. So every week you could weigh in and say "hello, my dear DVXUser friends, I'm just letting you know that I haven't got a beta H2 card yet."

... and then one week you'd stop making those posts... and then we'd all become *very* interested.
