The petrol goes on with a couple elastic bands which can be a pain in the ass when you're in a hurry

It attaches securely but, as Tony says, not necessarily quickly. It's not too bad, but you do have to pay attention and wedge it on there.

Can you leave the petrol hood on and flip the LCD back on itself? For when I have focus puller who needs to be on the side checking focus. I'd imagine it can't fold all the way back but can get pretty close?

yes it will flip back enough for your focus puller, it goes on via 2 elastic bands, that although it sounds like people have had problems I never have, and it folds flat when not in use.

i built my own lcd shade. works well, and goes on with elastic straps sort of like jarreds there, but goes on in about 3 secs, and can also be used when the lcd is folde flat like that.

yeah.. if you laid this thing flat and traced it you could cut out your own very easily.

.foam rubber from the craft store :).. i swear te ladies in there must think im some sort of martha stewart by now with all the little sewing and fabric stuff i get !

Thats the Cavision 4x4.. to this point its the only mattebox that I trust.

Hey jarred how is it working out for you, that mattebox?
I was also looking into cavision and i really seem to be attracted to their products. How much did you cash out on the box and where could i pick one of them up?
Seems like one of the nicest boxes on the market.

Its working very well, the only thing I dont like is the little plastic tabs to hold the flag. It is very large though, it wont fit in a DVX camera bag.. so when I go commando I use the Matteblox cause it folds up nice. those 2 seem to work good.. and the Bogen/Formatt may work with a new adapter.
