hello,

somebody already tried a hoodman loup for the LCD? there is a Loup called ex kit pro that should fit the LCD screen. but is it still possible to operate the switches located behind/inside the LCD screen (zebra, bars, wmf)? and is focusing easier? at least it would help for exposure out side on a sunny day. so if anybody has experience please let me know.

Au contraire, mon ami. I actually bought that loup for my 7D and still keep it in my AF100 kit - just used it today a couple of times on a shoot. I keep it handy and often double check focus by holding it up (not permanently mounted) to the LCD screen for a much larger and sharper image than the viewfinder affords.

Yeah, for handheld work this could be a simple/light alternative to an external EVF like Cineroid. Seems to be right about where my eye is anyway.
snp, does the ex loup mount easily onto the af100?

I've tried this with the extension unit they sell and I think it works great. Much better than the EVF, IMHO. The eyepiece isn't very comfortable, but it's possible that it could be modified.

The Hoodman loup is far too heavy for the AF100 LCD...NOT RECOMMENDED. Tried it and yes it blocks the switches as well.
