The Hoodman is pretty good. It's different from Olof's at Westside AVs which I've tried as well.
I would say that if you can leave the plastic yoke from Westside AVs hood on all the time, it's a bit more convenient as the velvet hood part goes on very quickly. But for me, I try to fit every thing into my back pack so I had to take plastic yoke off every time and I had no where to store it in my back pack.
Hoodman is definitely more fiddly to put on as it takes longer than the Westside AV, but the plus is it folds up pretty small and can fit into my backpack. I also like the little rain slicker that comes with the Hoodman and goes over the batteries on the back.
Both hoods are good, just in different ways. Once again, Westside AV's is quite a bit easier and faster to put on the hood and it's more protective of the screen, but the Hoodman has a smaller footprint and is easy to take off and fit into tight bags.
