homeless voice over man

Wish I could get this guy to narrate the trailer for MARIANNE.

At this point though, I probably couldn't even afford him =D

For some reason I think he's not charging people very much, which may add to his appeal? After all he would do almost anything for a dollar, I'm just quessing he'd jump at what might be considered a low salary for his line of work.

Just heard here locally in Columbus:

Homeless Golden Voice Man has turned down the position with the Cleveland Cavs. He claims that he will be taking his talents to South Beach.

Haha, too funny..

It seems like someone deffinitely needs to manage him. He will enjoy fame all year round and I will bet he gets into one of those "best news stories of the year" shows in late December.

Sad thing is, I feel he's just being exploited and once the public's short attention span has waned, will anyone even care enough to keep him employed?

I can't see him just getting fired for no reason at this point. As I see it, he's been given a second chance. The rest in now up to him, nobody else.

Best of luck to him.

Well, he is talented and has good delivery... he may not keep million dollar gigs, but I see no reason why he wouldn't be able to keep gainful employment... if he keeps his head on straight...

You dont get second chances too often. My money is on him, that he wont mess this up.

It's interesting, I see all these people railing on his mother, but what they haven't lived through is the life before this time with Ted. I just lost an aunt to drug addiction, and I know what our family went through, for over 30 years. He's probably burnt a lot of bridges, and make a lot of promises that he hasn't kept, and his mom probably just doesn't believe him yet, as he has a track record that proves otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is awesome, and I am *really* happy that he has this second chance. There are people that change, I've seen it. I want to see it work here. And I hope the trash television doesn't negatively impact him, as they are already digging and pulling out EVERY detail of his life.

I always think of this though: A thief will steal your car, a drug addict will steal your car, and then help you look for it :)

Sorry Jason, I tried not to read this thread because I knew it was going to piss me off.

Okay Grimepooch. LET'S START WITH THIS...

"He's probably burnt"
WHAT THE **** DOES THAT MEAN? PROBABLY?

Please stop this speculation BS before I get banned for real. "Probably" WTF IS THAT? Stop it.

So did you actually do any research on him as a person before you respond to my comment? How about the Discount Tire that he was arrested at for not leaving the premises last July and screaming obscenities at when the police had to be called and remove him from the property. I'm pretty sure he burnt that bridge at Discount Tire.

Just because he's been given a second chance doesn't mean there are people in his life that *his* second chance has absolutely nothing to do with whatever they dealt with in his life. What about his mom talking about HIS family that he ruined. I can hear the skepticism in her voice about his new found fame. People are so quick to judge his mother, call her heartless, yet, they haven't a clue (nor do I) for the path led them to this point.

And I still contend he has probably burned some bridges, which is WHY his mother is skeptical of him. She's obviously still pissed at him for ruining his family as she mentions it. She's pissed he doesn't even know her age.

Did you look at the criminal history? He's got what 20 years of arrests? I've seen at least 7 mug shots from all periods of his life. That's not speculation, that is fact. I think it is awesome he's been given a second chance, and that I hope this experience is powerful enough to separate him from the things that have destroyed his life in the past, but I've been through these situations with a family member. It's probably why I understand the mom and where she is coming from. I've watched my family become bitter as second, third, forth, fifth chances come and go, and the cycle repeats itself. Can't anyone understand what pain she's possibly been through?

I think you need to ask yourself why you are getting so emotional about a person you don't even know and wouldn't have even known of if a reported didn't finally decide to run a news article that he'd done weeks ago.

And it's grimepoch by the way.

I appreciate the insight. That goes a longer way than just posting what I quoted you as saying. That's what I had the problem with. I can't read minds.

So, that's all fine then, but you didn't say that before. You just mouthed off. Now you backed it up, but , ya , it kind of sets me up a bit.

I'll have to look into it more but no, I'm not concerned about his past concerning his future at this piont but I will have a look at it and make a better decision later ofcourse.

I can see it in his face and his body behaviour that I know, I believe he's being honest. That stuff is hard to fake even for a veteran actor. He's legit.

But getting back to you, maybe watch how you phrase things.

//Edit: And I still stand by my post. "Probably" doesn't mean ****.

How was I mouthing off? You've read more into what I wrote than what I actually wrote. All I was doing was defending the mother and her observable actions and giving a possible reason to why she is acting the way she is. Even from her comment "Please don't disappoint me" I thought that was awesome of her to say and was indicative of her giving him another chance and that what he was doing IS important to her and she is letting it be important to her.

Please don't think that I feel he is lying or acting, I don't believe that for a second, and I don't see anywhere that I said that. I'm honestly asking you if you've ever dealt with people with serious drug addictions? People with additions aren't burning bridges because they want too, they are controlled by a substance that they don't have the power to overcome. Why would ANYONE want to be controlled by a substance to the point you end up living in a makeshift tent on the side of the road. I would think he'd not want that either. They do things, illegal things, to support an addiction, NOT a habit. And the strange part is, when you get those people off the drugs, they finally see what they have done. It's like night and day. They couldn't see it during the time, as their mind was so influenced that they were not thinking straight. They can NEVER touch those substances anymore, which he understands as well.

His real battle is coming, and people are putting themselves into position to help him. Even he acknowledges that addiction is not just a problem when you are at your low point, it's when you are at your high point as well. The fact he understands that is a HUGE plus to me. He is truly talented, everyone I show that video cannot believe those words are coming from him.

More than anything, I hope his plight helps others dealing with the aftermath of addiction can overcome where they've landed and it encourages them to see that life can start again at any point when things come together.
