Home Tour Video

At first I was concerned about using my HVX to do Home Tour videos for realty agencies due to the limited low light capabilities. I just recently shot my first home tour in a house that had very little light and I think it turned out well.

Shot at 720 60i with a gain of 3 most of the time.

I am aware of the spelling error on the first slide.

i think its excellent. i've been trying to convince some people in this area to do the same. i have the indie slider that i use. its easier to work with than always manually panning. good luck ....

Thanks guys....Yeah this type of work has opened so many new doors for me. With the economy hitting my area especially hard...it's hard for me to find clients willing to part with their hard earned money for videos. These home tour videos have helped keep me busy. I can do one from start to finish in a day.

kyleb....I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get the indie slider. Do you recommend it? Do you use it with your HVX mounted on a tripod?

Slider definitely works well for this kind of thing. I use a glidetrack, but I'd recommend getting one with bearings. The glidetrack can get sticky and mess up a shot. Here's a video tour I did a while back where I used a decent amount of slider shots and a couple jib shots. I'd definitely recommend the slider, but not so much hauling out a jib. It takes too long to set up and the overall impact of the shot isn't much different from a slider move. Plus the jib I have is a little wobbly.

dust'n.......great video thanx for the info. I love dolly and jib shots.

My issue is the area I live in the average home price is about $150k.....so I can't charge as much as I would for my normal video services because realtors will not spend $400 for a short home tour video. This means to make it worth while to me.....I need to get in and get out quickly.

I was hoping to get the indieslider and just mount it on the top of my libec ls-38 and move around the house quickly with that puppy. any thoughts?

Can I just get the indieslider 24"......and mount that on the sticks of my tripod (ls-38) and then put the head on the slider? Im wanting to keep the cost as low as possible so i would prefer not to buy any more fluid heads or legs or anything for it.
