Hollywood Style Sound

It's hard for me to get past the sound but if I remember correctly I liked the film otherwise. But I wouldn't have made it all the way through if it wasn't a screening. But then I suspect there are films I love that cinematographers can't look at. The price of being too aware of your area.

you can always tell in normal dialogue scenes when a line or two is suddenly ADR. Much different sound. Anyways, can anyone provide a link to one of the stickies where "hollywood" sound is addressed?

Bad ADR: Actor standing in front of pop screen in front of microphone in front of screen.
Good ADR: Actor(s) playing the original scene (moving!) in the studio while being boomed. Vocalign puts it right.

BAD ADR, = you notice it
GOOD ADR, = you don't

Doesn't mater how and where it was done, many times your "good" scenario isn't possible, and Vocalign is good but not magic.
