First of all I am really sorry if I offended somebody on this board. But I would really like to know why the thread got closed.

I just talked about why people have an image about any country. I didnt say that a country is bad (actually I said its a great country) as well as I didnt talk about politics (it was just mentioned as a reason for an image).

I think I am very international and very interested in other countries, so in my opinion it is very interesting to talk about other countries and their images and why are they like that.

Every country has its pros and cons. And I dont think it is wrong to talk about anybodys opinions, as well as I think the discussion didnt escalate.

So please could the mod give me an explanation?
 
political discussions can sometimes blow up pretty quick so they're usually cut off before they escalate.
 
Ok, thats a reason. Sorry for that.

And if it was about my comment about the vomiting. Maybe it was misunderstood.

It doesnt mean that I would vomit because of the american flag. I just wanted to say, that I would never do such a scene in any movie. Also not with my countries flag. I just dont like glorifying myself.
 
Relax, I have a lot of German friends and they have a tendency to use stronger English than what they actually mean.

"Seeing another American flag in a movie makes him want to vomit"

that translates to:

"I would prefer not to see another American flag waving in the opening of a film. It is cliche. :)" No big deal, just an opinion.

I myself love seeing the American flag wave. It's when it waves behind a Fox News Alert I get slightly bothered. :grin: I'm teasing

It's not your "political stance" that caused the thread to be locked. It's the fact you expressed it here that's the issue. DVXuser isn't supporting any particular ideology other than "don't mention politics here".

I love how "STARLA" is also wearing stars and stripes! Man... I'm telling you that 'Dynamite is way better then people realize. I wonder if Roger Ebert still thinks it's a weak movie or if he changed his opinion over time.

I only know 2 types of people... those who loved ND on the first viewing and those that hated it at first, but love it now.

I'll bet half of the extras in that flick never expected it to be anything more then a small indi film that "nobody" would see.

BTW... I'm glad you explained that flag thing... because it makes sense now and that sounds a lot better to the rest of us.
 
That scene in ND gives me flashbacks to when I was teaching martial arts. There are so many guys like that out there... and a good share of them dress like that. I've never understood it.:shocked:
